The plant is a naturally growing epiphyte with curved pseudobulbs. The inflorescence holds 12 2" (5 cm) flowers.
Distribution[]
It is found in Para state Brazil near the coast in places without dry seasons.

It is very similar to Catasetum lemosii and is often listed as it being a synonym, but the two are thought to be different species.
It is also similar to Catasetum fucshii and Catasetum mattogrossa.
