Dracula terborchii is an epiphytic orchid in the genus Dracula.
Description[]
A broad-leafed Dracula from Northwest Ecuador similar to Dracula polyphemos, except that the lip is more elaborate, and the lateral sepals more deeply separated from one another.
Distribution[]
Dracula terborchii is found near El Chical, about 20 km further west from Maldonado, Carchi, along the Ecuadorian/Colombian border. The species is relatively recently described, but has been collected by local growers on several occasions and its characters seem relatively uniform among the collected clones. Plants of this species have gone unnoticed in some collections, mistakenly thought to be Dracula polyphemos, which grows further east and upslope from the area where Dracula terborchii is found.

cool, evenly moist, shady, and breezy. Pot the plant in fine bark with perlite or sphagnum moss. Water regularly and keep potting media moist.
Naming[]
Etymology: Named for Hermann Ter Borch of the Netherlands, who first noted its distinctions.
