Gongora portentosa is an orchid species found in Central America.
Distribution
Plants are found in the montane forest of Colombia, Ecuador and Peru
Description
Plant blooms in the spring with many 8.75 cm wide flowers. Flowers are fragrant.
Culture
Plants are usually grown in wooden baskets in partial shade. Use a well drain potting media such as medium fir bark with perlite, tree fern fibers, or sphagnum moss. Keep area humid and grow in warm temperatures. Keep mix moist but not dry.
