Paphiopedilum hirsutissimum is a species of Paphiopedilum found in Asia.
Description[]
Plant blooms in the winter with a single 10 cm wide flower.
Distribution[]
Plants are found growing on humus at the base of trees and on mossed covered rocks. In the winter and spring the area has periodic drizzles and high humidity. In the summer to fall there is heavy rains.
Culture[]
Plant in areas with moderately bright light and cool to intermediate temperatures. Keep mix moist but not wet. Pot in a well drain mix such as medium fir bark and perlite. Species can tolerate many different potting mediums. Water regularly about every four to five days and reduce watering in the winter. To induce blooming give heavy watering from summer to fall and lower temperatures and withold watering for around thirty days.
