Paphiopedilum insigne is a species of Paphiopedilum found in Asia.


Plant blooms in late fall to winter with one 12.5 cm wide flower.


Paph. insigne is found in Assam,Meghalaya,Manipur states of India and in Nepal and in some regions of Myamar on high cliffs near water at elevations of 910 to 1500 meters. The region has wet and heavy rainfall in the summer and dry and humid winters with heavy fog.


Plant should be grown in areas with bright light and intermediate temperatures. Pot in medium fir bark and perlite. To induce blooming reduce watering in the winter for four to six nights. Keep humidity at 60 to 80%. Plant grows during the spring.
