Phalaenopsis gigantea is an species in the genus Phalaenopsis.
Description[]
Plant blooms from late summer to fall with 3.75 to 7 cm fragrant flowers.
The plants were first collected by Mantri Jaheri in 1879 who mistaken it for Phalaenopsis amabilis. The plants were re categorized by Jacob J. Smith, who noticed distinctions between the species in 1909 in Bulletin de l'Agriculture aux des Indes Neerlandises.

Plants are found growing in the lowland forest of Sabah, Borneo, and Sarawak at elevations of 0 to 400 meters
Culture[]
Grow in warm temperatures. Pot in medium fir bark and keep in partial shade. Water about once a week. Keep plant fairly moist but not wet.
