Phalaenopsis lamelligera is an Phalaenopsis species found in South East Asia.

Description[]

Plant flowers in the spring to fall with 9 to 12 flowers. Flowers are fragrant

This species is similar to Phalaenopsis cornu-cervi but differs by having a "m" shaped lip, larger intensive violet markings behind the midlobe, and darker thicker spots.

The plant was introduced into cultivation in 1891 by Bull. This species is often labeled as a synonym for Phalaenopsis cornu-cervi but the RBG at Kew recognizes it as its own species.

Distribution[]

Plants grow on trees trunks in the forest of northern Borneo.

Culture[]

Grow intermediate to warm. Pot in medium fir bark and keep in partial shade. Water about once a week. Keep plant fairly moist but not wet.
