I recently added Orchids Wiki:Editorials where individuals can write articles of research and classification. For example you can write articles about growing cattleya from seeds or orchids found in a specific region of the world. I am also aware that information on a wiki can be seen as doubtful, but that what the talk pages are for to narrow down specific information with insight. And if it is obviously wrong it can be changed.
People are currently using the site as a reference source and my current goal is to document pages for most of the genera before adding minute details but if more individuals join we may be able to get a IRC channel from wikia for realtime discussion and help.

- The editorials/articles idea is a good one. I'd contribute more but I'm working on my own orchid related project. The least I can do is try and dispel common misconceptions. As you add more content to this website...the more frequently it will show up in google searches. Eventually, orchid hobbyists will realize its potential and help contribute. I've suggested to the AOS that they create the same type of orchid wiki website...personally I'd be more motivated to contribute to a project that would help financially benefit an orchid related organization. But as technically challenged as the AOS is, it's highly unlikely they'll recognize the value of such a website.
